Sound to Sea Field Trip
"It was fun and I learned about nature and a lot of birds that we saw. I want to go back because I still have so many questions to ask and so much more that I want to learn! I'm so glad I went because I learned how bad pollution is and how I can help." "I did really well on my Science EOG and I know this trip helped me! We learned so much cool stuff that was useful!" |
Beginning this year, our 5th grade students have the opportunity to attend the Sound to Sea field trip in May. This is a 3 day, 2 night field trip to the Trinity Center in Salter Path, NC on beautiful Bogue Banks near Morehead City. Students attend classes that focus on different habitats in the area from the sound to the ocean. Students work on collaboration, communication, and teamwork as well. We complete fundraising beginning in 4th grade for students to earn money to pay for this trip. Our students learn so much on this trip with an emphasis on biology because it relates directly to the North Carolina Essential Standards for 5th Grade.
